  Toshiaki Ikeda has worked for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government since 1983.After having gained rich and diverse management experience across multiple bureaus, including Environment, Citizens and Cultural Affairs, Headquarters of the Governor of Tokyo, he took up the position of Senior Director, General Affairs Division, Bureau of Environment in April 2014, and since then has been responsible for all the various aspects of environmental policies. Having previously been dispatched to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, during which time he was posted to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, he also has firsthand experience with international cooperation and diplomacy. He is currently leads international relations and the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games at the Bureau of Environment and is proactively promoting international cooperation and exchange between cities.
